Woodridge Homes Premiers 15 vs Wellington Premiers 53
A few out on the day but the boys kept trying. One week closer to a win!?
Quay Marine Premier Reserves 28 vs Wellington Premier Reserves 17
A good 80 min result for the team.
We had a simple game plan that worked last time these 2 teams met - field position, dominance in the forward exchanges, spin the ball wide. In the first 40 we kept to our game plan and had the opposition pinned in their half, the majority of the period resulting in 2 penalties and 2 well executed tries. Halftime score we were 16-0 up. Second half our opposition used our game plan against us and in a matter of 20 minutes we were behind 17-16. Our team leaders came to the fore, got the boys on track reverting back to the original game plan at which we finished with 2 hard earned 5 pointers. Final score 28-17.
Great team effort however, several players need special mention. Tai Tiatia aka "Zinzan" wannabe... plays #8 grubber kick for the wing to gather and score in the first half. Sideline conversion to end the game. Anaru Waihape (2nd5) strong ball carrier, broke the line at will. Brett Taefu #7 carried well and dominated at the breakdown. George Faletolu (tighthead) lead from the front on defense. Meyer Christian-Grey-Peteli (El-Capt) for his leadership of his troops.
Point scorers: Rohan Rawlings 1t, Anaru Waihape 2p-1t, Zyrus Grace 2t, Tai Tiatia 1c.

Superloans Colts 12 vs Wellington Colts 36
Our Colts played on Friday against Wellington. We couldn’t finish things off at game time. We dominated for long periods but just couldn’t take advantage of the ball with the finishing touches letting us down. Our backs didn’t get enough clean ball as the game went on and it ended up being a tough day at the office. The guys never gave up and will not until the season is done. Three tough games to go and if we win them all we will make a semi. OBU Black this week at MacAlister Park on Saturday at 1, bring it on!

Superloans Cripples 28 vs Upper Hutt Pirates 26
The Cripples played away vs a good young Upper Hutt Pirates team once again a bit low on numbers only having 3 subs all of which got on early. It was a very even game, we led early but they kept coming back even leading 19 to 18 early in 2nd half but we hung on in the end. We won 28 to 26. 4 tries a piece but we took points that were on offer as in penalties and that was the difference. Good teams win pressure games as we did, and we are on track to make playoffs, but it is one game at a time. Bye week this week which is great timing for us. 🤙🏿

Pressies 29 vs Norths Red 40
Our Pressies traveled to Jerry Collins Stadium a little short on numbers. Great spirit shown by the Norths boys to share a couple and still have a quality match. Great stuff boys!

'ITALIAN JOB' LUNCH WRAP
It was great to see 30 or more sit down to a lovely cooked 3 course meal at the club last Saturday. A different sort of idea which we will certainly be looking to build on in the future.
A big shout out needs to go to Brent Comis (& Karma for the Tiramisu), Ben Fisher, Chris ‘Papa Shangou’ Paroli and Susan Poutoa for all their hard work making this happen.
It was great to get a visit from the Webb Ellis Trophy, Bledisloe Cup and Women’s World Cup over both days of the weekend also!

Subscriptions overdue for some….
We have seen some terrific efforts by our teams this year to raise their subs monies, however, we still have some collecting to do. Please be sure to square this off as soon as possible as the running of the club simply isn’t free and this time of year becomes even harder as the season starts finishing off;
Health and Safety Update
The NZ Rugby Foundation and NZ Rugby are driving a ‘Defib in every club’ initiative which is great to see. Whilst these don’t come cheap, they can be critical when on the spot and waiting. There have been six cardiac arrests in the past five years on rugby fields and even if this saves ONE life it will be worth it.
We as a club have agreed to work with the NZRF and get on the list. It comes at no cost to clubs which is even better.
As an aside, the Defib at the North Wellington Football Club (Alex Moore Park) was recently stolen. A real stink act by some idiot! Hopefully they get this back soon so it continues being a potential lifesaver on their sidelines.
