Better at the Polo...

Woodridge Homes Premiers 5 vs Oriental Rongotai Premiers 46

The effort was a lot better than previous week. We started off well but just put ourselves under huge pressure at the wrong end of the field. One thing we wanted to work on was line speed and we put Ories under some pressure, but they scored some good tries.

Unfortunately, Ories got away on us 31-0 at half time but in the second half we started using the wind and put heaps of pressure on Ories and forced them to make a lot of errors. With the final score 46-5 our second half effort was 15-5 so that was very encouraging.

Tries: Rob Sua (Club Rugby noting him as a back 😊)

(Andrew Wharakura, Head Coach)

Brady 'Cutting' Loose

Quay Marine Premier Reserves 5 vs Oriental Rongotai Premier Reserves 52

The team started well scoring the first points. We maintained a good defensive line for the majority of the first half. A defensive lapse and a turnover cost our team 2 tries to Ories, going into halftime trailing 12-5.

In the second half we maintained a strong defensive line, unfortunately, we could not sustain the effort due to struggling fitness levels. Changes were made, but the momentum was lost and Ories experience came to the fore and the score reflects this through unanswered tries. Our team performed admirably and left it all out on the field and came away with a lot of tired and sore bodies. Thanks goes out to Cripples and Colts management for the support given to our team. Your players performance was exceptional.

Tries: Hyrum (Cripples)

(Brent Carroll, Head Coach)
