Woodridge Homes Premier’s 3 vs Tawa 74
We move onto Ories this week….
Quay Marine Premier Reserves 10 vs Tawa 41
The game provided a lot of valuable insights to our team’s capabilities. We started very well maintaining good field position and pressure, in the first quarter of the 1st half, resulting in our teams 10 points. Thereafter team options and decision making put ourselves under pressure. The team expended too much energy on attack unfortunately our fitness was not at the required level to reap the rewards. As a result, our scrum and defensive line struggled for the rest of the game.
Coaching staff and team management got a stronger appreciation and understanding of the teams 'minutes per player' structure. This is normally sorted preseason fast forward to present times. Coaches now have this information we progress. It also pleasing to see our team culture is building in a positive direction.
Point Scorers: Tom Brazil - try; Zyrus Grace - 1 penalty, 1 conversion.
(Brent Carroll, Head Coach)
Superloans Colts 5 vs Ories Colts 22
In pretty average conditions the Colts took on Ories on Friday night on the Alex Moore Artificial. With a treacherous cross breeze with a freezing chill and driving rain made this an interesting contest. Our boys stayed in the fight until deep and really matched the larger Ories side physically and mentally. It was 5-7 until the dieing stages and then a couple of decisions coach Richard ‘Hendo’ Henderson probably wanted to have back by his team cost the boys. Top effort though! Enjoy the week off this week and go strong against Wellington next weekend. Wellington were tipped up 68-0 by Ories so this bodes well if we show the same level of fight and commitment.

Following on from our recent Headfirst event held in conjunction with NZ Rugby, Mike King promoted a Gumboot Friday which aimed to raise further awareness in the depression space, as in, ‘For many, having depression is like walking through mud every day’.
