Let's get past this virus!

What is the deal for tomorrow?

We are playing at level 2.

Please note the following advice from the WRFU:

Firstly, thank you for your patience the last 48-72 hours. Following this evening’s announcement by the Prime Minister, we are pleased to advise that some Rugby will take place tomorrow under Level Two restrictions.

The decisions made by WRFU haven’t been made lightly but given we haven’t had experience of Rugby in Level Two we want to ensure we get it right this week before returning to all grades next Saturday.

Grades taking place with alterations to fixtures:

  • Women’s Rebecca Liua’ana Cup

  • Men’s Swindale Shield

Grades postponed this weekend:

  • Harper Lock Shield (Premier Reserve)

  • Paris Memorial Trophy (Colts)

  • JC Bowl (Under 85kg)

  • Mike Copeland Cup (Reserve Grade)

  • Presidents Grade

No decision will be made on the status of these postponed games until next week.

All Matches Spectator Free

To give our participants the safest environment possible we are asking for all matches to be played spectator free.

100 People Bubbles

To achieve 100 participant bubbles each Club will be permitted to bring 45 people to their games this weekend. Key Club contacts have been asked to provide a list of their 45 by 9am tomorrow morning as part of their Event Plan (NZR requirement) for signoff.

The other 10 people will be reserved for match officials and WRFU representatives.

Specific JRFC advice:

Ground Access / Attendance

· Please use the main Helston Road entrance only and not Hardy Street or Stewart Drive. Signage will be included at the Hardy Street entrance outlining no entry. This applies to those permitted on the ground and for those heading into the clubrooms.

· A maximum of 100 people including players and officials permitted on the field at any one time (this is one separate bubble).

· Our ground managers (who will be clearly marked) will be monitoring numbers and entry at the ground

· QR codes are present on the fences at the club

· Please ensure social distancing as appropriate.

Clubrooms

· Numbers in the clubrooms to be managed during and post-matches – no more than 100 people will be allowed in the club and will be monitored. This is a separate bubble to the ground outside the clubrooms

· Seated, separated, and served will apply where possible. Please ensure social distancing as appropriate

· QR codes will be available throughout the clubrooms and we recommend these to be used. You can also sign in manually using a register available or through the IDMe app (and accessing the WRFU website with this week’s fixtures).

Personal Responsibilities

· If you are unwell, please stay away from both the ground and clubrooms. This is simple!

· We will be doing what we can to ensure we are compliant with Alert Level 2 guidelines; however, we ask that every person takes some responsibility in ensuring compliance. This is community rugby after all!

Old Timer's Update

Despite not getting the treats on Old Timer's Day it was still a massive day out for the club.

We saw a great win from our Premier Reserve Cripples earlier in the day and then a tightly fought clash that saw our Premier's go down narrowly to the Axemen for the Mick Kenny Memorial Cup. It was terrific to have the 103 test great Ma'a Nonu along to speak and present the Premier's jerseys.

Another massive night at the club and the club appreciates the support in numbers and amount that we took behind the bar.
