Kia ora to our Hawks Community!
We hope you and your whanau are all keeping well. Winter is certainly taking hold now and Covid along with other flus and ailments are circulating at will. It is so important to remain vigilant during this time.
Our Woodridge Homes have their season on the line tomorrow with a do or die Hardham Cup quarterfinal clash with the Upper Hutt Rams at Maidstone Park. This time last year we were able to knock them over in soaked conditions before falling short a week later to Petone. Tomorrow presents just as tough a proposition and our lads will be determined to get another one over the Rams. Earlier this year in the Swindale Shield competition, we had led them on the bell and they scored an unconverted try to tie that one. Good luck lads, bring the mahi!
We have been successful in putting one piece of silverware away for the season with our Megabyte Under 85 Terrahawks already wrapping up the first around JC Bowl competition. A massive effort by the lads to build an extremely strong squad this year and have been very well led by Rob Aloe, Brad Young and Andrew Paul. Not the smoothest competition for the lads with a few defaults across the competition but the team has remained unbeaten and take on highly rated Upper Hutt at Helston Park at 2.45pm tomorrow in the last round. Their hopes remain alive in the National Club Cup competition with Avalon defaulting last week, although a replay of that fixture ensues at some agreed date soon.
In other grades, our Premier Reserves take on Wainuiomata in a second round HD Morgan Memorial clash where they remain in finals contention. Our Colts take on Avalon in a seemingly competitive match in their continued first round. The Cripples take on Upper Hutt Pirates in their second round John Davies Cup clash and the Pressies venture down the road to take on Tawa at Redwood.

Newlands Park, 1pm

Newlands and Onslow college first XV's continue their journeys tomorrow. Newlands take on St Bernards 2nd XV at Fraser Park 2 from 11.30am, whilst Onslow were due to take on Hutt International 2nd XV but per the latest draws it appears the Premier 4 Onslow Cup matches are cancelled tomorrow.
Newlands currently sit 4th with a game in hand in the Premier 3 Paul Cameron Cup which is good going and Onslow sit on top of the Premier 4 Onslow Cup. Great to see both sides trucking along nicely and we certainly hope for some decent numbers through our academy later this year and into the Colts fold next year.
Newlands featured mid week in the Co-ed Cup semi-finals, a further top achievement, but found Upper Hutt College far too strong. Of note, Upper Hutt sit top of the Premier 2 grade.
