We hope you and those close to you are surviving lock down ok. It is great to see we are downgrading to alert level 3 from next Tuesday at 12am and it is fair to say the NZ fighting spirit has come to the fore again. Whilst level 3 still makes life pretty restrictive, the closer we move to a possible level 2 alert in the week beginning May 11. Keep up the great work in our community to stay in your bubbles anyway!
As for rugby, there is still a fair bit of uncertainty around when we may start a modified club season, however, there is growing optimism coming out from NZ Rugby and the provinces that we could be looking at something from mid to late June / early July. This will be some reprieve if that is the case after so long without live rugby or sport and we hope our community can embrace getting back into rugby after a global pandemic which we would be lucky to see every 100 years.
We do wish you and your families a safe next few weeks which will be so pivotal with life getting back to some sort of ordinary.
As you and your businesses transition from alert level 4 into 3 our club is here to help. A number of the lads can be on hand to support you / the community in whatever way that might be. It could be deliveries, storing, stacking etc. etc. Please reach out to us if you do need a hand: email@example.com.
Club 'Virtual' Raffle - Drinks Selling Fast!
Ok Club Members! Juniors, Seniors and everyone else, it’s fundraising time. As you all know, we are currently in lockdown to help "stop the spread" of the horrible Covid-19 AKA Coronavirus! However, like everyone OUR club still has bills to pay like power, insurance, etc (at least $1,500 per month), and as the clubrooms cannot be open, we have lost one of our main income streams via the bar. So, the committee has decided to run a "virtual drinks" raffle. We're selling 300 "virtual drinks" at either $5 a drink or $25 for a bucket. Cash prizes will be: 1st prize - $150 2nd prize - $100 3rd prize- $50 2 x 4th prize - $20 6th prize $10 To purchase a ticket(s) please either PM to Mike Segetin or email him (firstname.lastname@example.org) advising how many "drinks" or "buckets" you'd like to buy and then deposit your money into the following a/c 01 0519 0070195-00 and reference with your name and "bar raffle". Once your payment comes through, I'll entered it into a spreadsheet with the next available numbers and I'll reply to you with your designated numbers. When all 300 tickets are "sold", the draw will be done using a number generator app! This will be filmed and shared on the page and contact will be made with you so the transfer of your winnings can be arranged! You can only win once per number. If you know of any club members that aren't part of this group but might want to "buy some drinks", please let them know about it! If the club was open, you'd be there this weekend having a couple of drinks so please do get involved in this fundraising event during these unprecedented times! Every $5 helps! We hope you're all keeping well staying safe at home during this time. We’d also like to give a massive shout out to our clubs emergency service workers, medical professionals and all other essential service workers still out there being available and looking after us all, please take care and know that we are all thinking you! Thanks JRFC Committee
