A word from the Chair - game reports 19 July 2025

To the JRFC Prems team,

What a game! We couldn't be prouder of how you took on Tawa this past weekend. It was an intense 100 minutes, truly coming down to the wire. While the result didn't go our way, it doesn't diminish the outstanding season you've had.

From making the top 8, you pushed every week to reach the top 4, and then, of course, the semi-finals. You've put us back on the map! You played for yourselves, your brothers, your whanau, and our entire club community, showing immense heart, spirit, resilience, and love.

We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to your families, partners, and tamariki for sharing you with us over the past ten months. We understand and appreciate the sacrifices involved in playing for our club.

A huge thank you to Dallas, Paul, Andrew, Andy, Lee, Lauren, Alex, and Richard. Your leadership, vision, and belief in this team and our club are deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking us on this incredible journey—it certainly had its moments on game day!

To our Premier team sponsors, thank you for your contributions throughout the season; it has made a significant difference.

Finally, to our Hawks Whanau/Community, your support at the away games meant so much to the team. Honestly, the sideline support was amazing and showcased our strength despite the challenges we've faced.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini. Our strength does not come from ourselves alone. Our strength derives from the many.

Mā mua ka kite a muri, mā muri ka ora a mua. Those who lead give sight to those who follow. Those who follow give life to those who lead.

I would like to finish off with the message from Ha’amea Ahio: Senior Prems Player.

“It’s been a good season. Although we've come short, I’m glad we can put a smile on the community. Sorry we couldn't get there in the end after the season the club has suffered. Always know this is home for me, and I couldn't be more prouder putting on this jersey for the boys and the community every Saturday. I always try to give my all for the Ville. Love Jville ”

Bring on 2026!!
